Today's Ride

Re:

Continued my fascination with rural Essex.

Did a mostly road circuit around the outside of Hatfield Forest - which is still officially closed, not that you would know it. About 18 miles again. Bit more of a breeze. Warm.

Legs felt heavy today and couldn't really find a good rhythm, but I'm still adjusting to the 170mm cranks.

Oh yeah, and I'm now feeling the aftermath of the crash the other day

What's that? It's Friday again? But that was only 7 days ago. RESULT!

Another glorious morning. This is about the only spot around my way that I can balance my phone to take a snap like this. It's under a great big oak so the shade plays havoc with the light settings. Anyway, another solid blast around suburbia. Goldie was on tip-top form :D

Signs are up !

Re:

VE day provided street parties and empty trails - woohoo...

Only an hour tonight, so localish. 13 miles. Took in my fav downhill road bit, where I can comfortably spin out.

Chain is starting to slip and I don't have a spare to hand so have to take it easy.

Be interested in knowing more & pics of your crudcatcher & bottlecage.

Warm today, nice breeze though.

Havent been out much recently on the bike since having new tyres fited to the Triumph. Not one for going out at weekends due to, well, weekenders. It was as expected, busy, lots of cyclists out.

Helped a dog find its owner, apperntly it was a bit mutton and had hobbled off chasing a fox. Was worried i may have to cut the ride short and take it home, though the dog at mine would have thought i had bought it a toy and pulled all its stuffing out. Lady was kind of pleased, seemed more upset that she had been there from 9 this morning and was only out for a quick walk, i arrived on scene at about high noon, mad dogs and englishmen  :)

The ride started off vague today, not knowing where i was heading, that theme carried on for most the ride infact. The fields are starting to bloom around here, i know a great loop for this time of year but it is quite a long one and if i was stopped at the furthest point it would be kind of hard to justify it at present. Seems silly to travel too far from where i am as the whole place is surrounded by woodland, including Sherwood Pines, hmmm, that should be a bit quieter at moment.

Anyway, it turned into a great ride on another fine day.
