This was a mixed rando - MTB retro ride with the local bike community. 70km in total but completely flat l. That ain’t that difficult in the lowlands…😎

Away at a conference in a dull, overcast and somewhat chilly Falmouth on Thursday and Friday last week...so pretty much the same as at HQ further west! I knew I'd have time for a decent ride, so I brought the single-speed A'ha and decided to hammer out some silly, short climbs with a 42*14 ratio 🤣 Climbing out of Flushing (smirk) was a pleasure!

For our transatlantic cousins, please could you pull the gulf-stream south again because it's too far north 😟

Nice to see a bit of Cornwall on here! I used to live in Mylor so did that flushing climb fairly regularly. Good fun when you're not having to dodge 4x4s & boat trailers 👌

Falmouth/Flushing are lovely...happy memories of holidays there (although I only lived in Devon :-) ) The Jetstream needs to go North though to pull up warm air from the continent ;). We have had above average rainfall in the UK for 11 months in a row now....with that average covering all years back to 1836...

Anyway , the forecast seemed dry for this evening so I took the opportunity to get out on a different route this evening. HWTHE1850.webp The sun actually came out, briefly....

It was nice along the Thames path, deserted too. MVAIE3224.webp

I've put touring pedals on my Gwerch and I am soooo much happier...I'm a terrible roadie that's for sure, I don't like drop bars or pedals that are always upside-down, but I do like the awesome steel frames and pantographed bits :-) and I love this bike...

I did 18km along the Thames path and back again.

Bit frazzled this morning after last nights pleasant result. No booze just a late (for me) mid-week snooze. That said, got to get the ride in this morning. 11 degrees, light NW breeze, warming to 13 and the sweat on. Loads of dew so soaked arms and legs, but under-tyre, not bad considering the rain at the start of the week. Like most places, all of July's rain fell in a few days.

Not a soul to be seen...just a ton of rabbits 🤣
