Today's Ride

Bikes and…….radio telescopes?

About 25 miles of mostly muddy cross country today. At least it was just the wet dirty kind not the stick to your bike until it stops moving clay stuff. I like to think the resistance is good for me.

I hate those tyres but I can’t bring myself to waste the sealant in them by changing them. I thought I’d like the look of the tan walls in a retro way but they just don’t look right. I’ve got some nice black walls lined up.

Waterproof Sidis still holding up well despite several dunkings. A bonus of them being waterproof is being able to pressure wash them at the same time as the bike.

Filth.

Naturally a biased opinion given I've ran nothing but tan walls since my return to cycling however I reckon the Mondy suits it, enjoy seeing it in this thread - black and tan always a winner. Shame Schwalbe don't put the Brompton orange tan colour scheme on their larger diameter tyres.

Kind words thank you. The photos maybe make the colour look better - in person they’re a bit pale and bright compared to the look I was hoping for. I do have another reason for wanting to change - they are 2.25 wide which I’ve found is causing issues with mud clearance when you hit the stickier stuff. It’s rubbed the paint off the inside of the chainstays. Hoping some 2.05 width should improve things a bit.
