Reminds me of a mid January retro bike trip up Cold Fell where I was very glad I had a spare sainsburies bag for life to rip in half to cover each hand in two pairs of gloves so I could feel the brake levers again on the way down, a very intense wind chill to the bone I ve never experienced before even up the Canadian rockies in - 23 but I was probably dressed a little more appropriately at the time…. But I suppose that’s what you get for climbing a fell called Cold in the middle of January…. we had to carry the bikes up the last 500ft because they iced up so badly they were impossible to ride and probably a good job we did it in winter because there’s no official trails for foot or anything else because around the peak is quite a dangerous bog when it’s not frozen…. Something about the cold extremes though give you a real buzz, I love riding in snowy conditions but not at the expense of limbs however small ahahaNice but cold ride today.....

About -5C air temp with ice at the roadsides which required caution, the descent back to the village was tough as at 23mph [downhill all the way] the wind-chill factor was circa -15C [it felt even colder] or maybe lower.... who knows. I should have worn thermal layers under cycle gear however the view was worth the suffering....
