There is another nice one in the household...
Tange double butted frame.

Along with a heavy tourer, Tange 5 plain gauge tubing, lugged, really basic bike but it's a tank, and nothing to worry about..
Wheelers are all well made, the whole hybrid range is built the same way, same geo, only tubing varies from Tange 5 up to Tange infinity. Forks have eyelets for racks, also on the 26" models, a safe bet for a budget tourer.

I have the same bicycle, super happy with it! The fork a bit to flexy in my opinion! Otherwise great bike!

I had a Trek 8700 mountainbike back in 1993. It literally fell apart (bondings failed) and I got a 1995 model as warranty replacement. When this 7900 from 1995 popped up, I didn't have to think long. It's in great condition, hardly used I believe as the handlebar grips show no wear at all.

I will probably strip it to keep the parts as they are, replace them with more recent stuff and use the bike for my annual summer bike tour.

I must say I didn't feel safe first (after all, it's a 30 year old BONDED bike) but after a couple of days touring in the Alps, I was convinced: this bike will take me out on more multi-day tours.
