GT's why the dislike ?

Hehehe.

Grey though? That's just being obtuse. A ball-burnished frame in freshly polished condition is a glorious thing indeed.

He likes his Zaskar.

Couldn't wait for the parts I have coming for the official build, so I slapped on some 732 wheels with slicks on them, 732 cranks, and a Flite. Had the spins really bad last night, and I didn't want to risk crashing off-road, so I took it for a rip along jog-bra alley (the multi-use path along the lake). If you look real close, you can see the CN Tower in Toronto just right of the nose of the saddle.

At the Single Speed European Championships in Belgium last week there was the bike throwing competition where a cheapo crap geared bike is thrown by competitors as far as possible until either a winner is decided or the bike was destroyed, a little of both happened.

The bike was a European GT clone, not a GT but it looked so much like a GT that only saddo's like me could tell it wasn't one. The bike had the ludicrous early 90's paint scheme, the rear U-Brake the works.

Based on the damage it received I fear there was no love for GT's at that event

Personally I think GT are great for inovative full sussers but the hardtails are nothing special. Further the author of this thread is a Specialised hater, pot calling kettle black per chance

The Zaskar, Psyclone and Xizang are nothing special? We'll have to agree to disagree and other clichéd phrases.

As for the SS champs, imitation is often the sincerest form of flattery and so it goes that a lot of pseudo-mtb's were/are based on obvious brands. Doesn't mean GT are hated though, just a bike resembling one. Saying that, the SS world can be a little precious, can't it.
