1996 Kona Lava Dome - COMPLETE

Looking good Nick! 8) 8) 8) I'm sure you will have no problems removing the paint from the bosses and your LBS will have no problem cleaning the threads in the B/B. Probably a good opportunity to get them to face the B/B and head tube too. I have a question for the Kona buffs here on...

Bike to work scheme - how much do you pay at the end?

The savings aren't low... most people save around 43% off the RRP. Lets assume you made a small or no saving (which is a daft assumption) you still get to pay for the bike over 12 months (or more as you/your boss see fit) and that is a with 0% interest. The only people that CycleScheme is...

Bike to work scheme - how much do you pay at the end?

didn't pay, but I own it officially. the above isn't a legally viable option. if you don't pay something the bike is still the property of either your company or the cycle2work provider (if a provider was used). ;]

Bike to work scheme - how much do you pay at the end?

The deal with a bike is there is no hard and fast written rule on how a bike depreciates. So fair market value is what a regular joe would be willing to pay for the bike in its current state. (ebay is a good guide for this). A company can not agree the final fair market price before the...

    Ringle bottle cages...pretty and functional?

True. Tooling is expensive though (unless the original tooling still exists) and there would be a fairly high wastage in the design. don't get me wrong I think it would be ace if there was a reissue on the H2O.

    Ringle bottle cages...pretty and functional?

because MTB is now fully hydration-pack or super lightweight carbon cage. The market would be too small imho. :(

XTR ‘In Line’ Gear Position Indicators

I guess Shimano will gradually put these in all their MTB and flat bar groupsets seeing as they won't be able to put them on the high end road groupsets... goodbye washing-lines (thank god).

XTR ‘In Line’ Gear Position Indicators

You run your gear cable through them near the end of the shifter so you can see which gear you are in. I particularly like having gear indicators when night riding as looking at the chain-line/cassette always feels a little risky in the dark.

XTR ‘In Line’ Gear Position Indicators

I am probably in the minority regarding gear indicators on bikes.... I like them and use them, to make sure I'm keeping my chain-line straight. I don't need them if I'm running a double chain ring but on a triple I love them. The inline cable indicators sure do look a lot less like 'my...

....... also are you running presta valves in a rim drilled for schrader without a valve hole adapter ?

    Forgotten vows...

do you tighten the locking collar before pumping up to pressure? I see that all the time... if you tighten the locking collar before pumping up the tyre you strch the tube excessively at the valve and then it splits. Pump up then tighten down the locking collar to stop the rattle. :D

    Ringle bottle cages...pretty and functional?

It is all in the adjustment.......... you can close the size of the cage before you tighten the bottle boss bolts leaving you with either a tight or slack fit. Personally I think they hold bottles really well. ;]
