Why do you collect retro bikes?

It started with getting given one of my old bikes back, realised it still did the job for local riding and escalated from there. Nostalgia plays a large part and I tell myself it's cheaper than modern stuff and I suppose it would've been if I'd stuck to 1 or 2.
 
…for me they just accumulated. I moved from road to mountain in 1985, and then build performance bikes each season…and they just, well, built up. I was never properly retrohead since I always built - and still do - leading edge bikes. When it got silly in terms of components and bikes I started a half-hearted ‘one in, one out’ which has sort of worked since I no longer have
