Today's Ride

Avast alas aghast!

Fresh and biting. Calm and quiet. Meandered to the centre of Sheffield and back. Mainly by canal towpath in, up along Sheffield and Tinsley Canal from Rotherham - hence the artwork - and return along Five Weirs Walk to Meadowhell. NCR6.
Gambled on weather and it paid off.
Surprised myself, covering over 30 miles.
I'd forgotten how comfortable this little bike is.

T-minus two days until the apparent first snow of the season; temps certainly seem in line with it, sharp drop from double to single digits over the last week and the first day I've really felt it - numb fingers after a steady 57km 🥶

Not the best weather today but biking is always better than not biking.

Unfortunately, the forestry workers have been very active in the last few days.
And the town and the environmental associations here always claim that only mountain bikers are destroying the forest and paths and stressing the plants and animals...yeah right.

Not much time for rides lately 😟 The few I have done have been at night, so no photos, but I was able to get out in the rare sunshine this afternoon. The autumn colours in the park are in their last show before they disappear and it was a beautiful day - about 9C
