Today's Ride

Rode up to the old Ski Village today from Kelham Island.. what a beautiful day!

I used to go to allnighters here in the early 2000s .. namely NY Sushi or Phonetics .. watching the sun rise over the city was a sight to behold..

..man, i'm stuffed!
I'm most likely in a minority group of one and I'm almost sorry for saying it, , but to me that looks just disgusting.
Everything that's wrong with a diet,.

Everything that's wrong with a diet,.

..but it's not "a diet".. through the warmer months i eat overnight oats for breakfast made with 50% cows milk and 50% coconut milk, chia seeds, turmeric superblend, handful of almonds and pecans with blossom honey.. when the weather turns cold i switch to porridge with pecans, wallnuts, cashews, almonds, raisins and a sprinkling of cacao nibs..I haven't eaten lunch for 15yrs, then i eat an evening meal.. i weigh 11.5st and i'm 5'11"

That burger was delicious, last burger i ate was in Sicily back in August.. which was also delicious, i've never used a food app and the last time i went to Mcdonalds was sometime around 1995.. so please explain to me where i'm going wrong beacuse i'm not a dietition

If I'm planning a ride, I'm looking for nice places to stop for a coffee.
I dream of croissants, but find Coffee on its own better cos i can focus on the astonishing flavours, and maybe pull myself back into calorie-defecit for the day.
I'd say it's 100x easier to gain a kilo than to lose one. 20241115_225723.webp
Those are actually gas lamps, still burning.

I love all the foods! I find it fascinating what other people eat especially if it’s not something I encounter every day. I’d give anything a try if you could tell me you find it tasty.

@Betsy ’s post brought back a relatively recent great memory of taking my daughter to the same joint for a special treat while at Uni there. Sharing food you all enjoy with people you love, one of life’s pleasures.

I get that (if you enjoy it *other foods are also enjoyable) eating that every day isn’t “healthy” but then if I did that I’d be posting this in a different forum, not one about the rides you’ve been out on!

Let’s not derail a great thread and maybe move liked/disliked plates of food somewhere else?

Can’t remember the last ride I did that didn’t involve cake mind.

Time for a bikes and burgers thread...

Avast alas aghast!

Fresh and biting. Calm and quiet. Meandered to the centre of Sheffield and back. Mainly by canal towpath in, up along Sheffield and Tinsley Canal from Rotherham - hence the artwork - and return along Five Weirs Walk to Meadowhell. NCR6.
Gambled on weather and it paid off.
Surprised myself, covering over 30 miles.
I'd forgotten how comfortable this little bike is.
