Today's Ride

Was kind of nervous if not borderline anxious before this ride, distance wise it isn't too much more than I'd already done in a day, however instead of being a loop it's more A-B and back again, with a series of pretty bad hills right before reaching there, then the same again to start off a good 2h+ journey back, and then another two short but relatively bad climbs to end it before reaching home. Derwent Reservoir, all in came out at 112km and 1311m elevation gain. Possibly the most enjoyable ride I've ever had (for now).

Cold and bright, so dusted off the tourer and followed my nose to Castle Howard and back. 38 miles 500m. Notable things that didn’t get photo’d: starling murmuration; land-that-time-forgot roadside travellers’ camp replete with evocative wood fires and lots of magnificent (fighting?) cockerels in cages 😳; old giffer in a metro that almost took me out coming over a blind hill on the wrong side of the road (him, not me). Anyway here’s a church with a superb carpet of snowdrops, and some sun.
