Today's Ride

And so it begins…. usual day off and was excited for a snow ride on the DH but all the snow has gone and I managed to miss the early early train to the flying circus training spot, but it was -8 at 7 this morning so maybe the trails have thawed a bit by now

got the usual dirty stare from the trolley dolly as I wheeled the beast into the wheelchair point but train bicycle holes are not meant for big square DH bikes, I ve tried many times to no avail, luckily it’s only one stop

Another snowy commute for me, had to take the MTB today as the ice was lethal. As such, ended up taking a much more off-road route to work through woodland / country parks etc. Lots of fun.

Was actually a beautiful morning with the low hanging mist and sunrise, alas, 3 pairs of gloves and handwarmers means I couldn't reach for my phone to take any photo's. Just imagine a really good looking bloke riding a bike in the snow, you won't be far off

After a few cold dry days and even colder nights the trails around my local woods have now dried up enough that I feel like riding around them, the perfect opportunity to find out if fitting a new shifter has fixed the problem of slipping in gear with the spares or repair
Alfine 11 speed hub I bought a while ago and it seems that it has.

I took a loaded tandem to Aberdeen once . Never again .

Ooooosh that must have been excruciating fun, I can’t even work out how you would even get such a thing through the outer door and through the vestibule door ahaha the mind boggles
I was told there'd be a guards van , which there was but the bike stowage was a large cubicle with hooks so the tandem was double the length the hooks were designed for . It hung in an awkward L . Bump , cringe , bump , cringe ......
