Today's Ride

Well, this is now yesterday's ride -- and likely to be the last for a while. Lost the front wheel at speed on a local gravel road and came off quite hard. My foot must have stayed clipped in because when the dust settled it was bent at an odd angle. It righted itself when I tugged the shoe off but imaging revealed a big bone fragment had detached itself so surgery is required. I have a week in a half cast while the swelling goes down and have to inject myself with blood thinners daily to prevent clots. No riding for the next six weeks minimum. Gutted.

I hope you're mending well . Looks very uncomfortable .

Thanks mate. Here's a pic of my new titanium upgrades. Another three weeks until physiotherapy can start -- I've invested in a turbo trainer so I can do a bit of spinning at home, which the surgeon says will be good for the ankle.

Proper, reasonable winter has decided to turn up and give everyone a long-overdue bit of restbite from the incessant wind and rain. Please stay till March. Ta.

Yesterday was a quality ride to St Ives, Towednack, Nancledra, Chysausater, New Mill, Madron, Sancreed and home. I even did it with someone else. Amazing scenes! Light NE breeze, 6-8 mph, blue skies and pale sunshine. 5-6 degrees but with the wind chill, 2-3. Pics all from the B3306.

Some garage queens secretly like being flung about in mud . Obviously Panaracers' top mud plugging tyre , the Pasela helps with this .

Day vision cammo busting filters make it possible to see her when she drops to sub sonic speeds.

Once she's in the woods she loosens up a bit but she'll never be a tree climbing tom boy . You can't have it all .

When she starts getting filthy she looks great from behind and if you squint you can see her tiny heart . Bless .

There's scope for a one handed wild wet ride gag but I'm shy so .......

Then home and hose down before anyone notices

Pretty sure Campag Record was supposed to be used like this .
No gravel was ground in the making of this childish mess . Thanks Winston . :)

If it's any consolation moonlite, I've got a matching set in INNOX stainless in my left fib plus a couple of pins in the ankle - Alps 1982. Make sure you do push it in rehab [though it will hurt!!] and you'll get a full recovery, I was out skiing today. My best wishes to you for a full recovery. ❤️
