Today's Ride

Cool today, enough to keep jumper on for the whole ride.

I decided to do a loop through some local woods that though sandy have some great sections. My usual plan of going with the flow found me riding along a trail which also happens to be one of the local ways into the woods where Sherwood Pines trails are. As i felt good at this point i decided to go for a blast about. Rode a couple of trails around the once, making the best of what they had, bike park, before they had to take the big features down, and also up to the new built jumps, which were packed. Its good to see the kids out doing something fun instead of just hanging around the streets. At one time i would know everyone there, today i didnt know anyone. Still, its good to see lots of new faces enjoying bikes, can only be a good thing.

After Pines i made my way through a couple more local woods, to more local jumps and back down to some more quiet fishing lakes. Then the long but fun slog back home.

Loads of fun but unlike Al i need the rest, taking pictures is a good excuse for one :)

There were a lot of people out today, not usual walkers or exercisers as of late, it wasnt until i got home that i was told that the restrictions had been eased, makes sense now as most shops i passed were open as well. Oh well, the trails were nice and quiet for a bit at least.

Great ride, great fun.

Re:

Less windy, with just a light breeze, and a couple of degrees warmer today. Much less effort, which was a bonus, as I haven't fully recovered from yesterday.

Commute again - So much busier than yesterday. My commute route is normally quiet - occasional dog walker, jogger or bicycle. Now it's positively congested.

It's great to see people out and about enjoying the countryside. What's not so enjoyable is the sudden upsurge in litter and dogshit everywhere.

Ah, this looks like a good shot, the sun is coming through on the right, it's pinging off the flames. Right, set up the bike, get the cranks and wheels in the right position, ready...take aim...ah bugger...the sun's gone in

Blustery, not as chilly as yesterday and much quieter. Who knew there are so many construction and factory workers in SE London

I did get a token "this isn't a bridleway" shout-out

Sunny, 14°c and a light breeze.
A couple of hours wandering around the border. A couple of places I've been before, a couple I haven't. Quiet. Enjoyable ride.

Wondering how many cars and lorries they've had to tow out of there before the sign was put up :D Area looks nice, reminds me of the east coast here in Denmark.

Re:

Another chilly start although a touch warmer than yesterday. I'm presuming because we can "exercise" as much as we want now, folks are spreading their activities across the day rather than get out early before the rush because it was super-quiet on the trails, much to my enjoyment

Another poorly exposed shot plus a few others from another cracking Friday ride. The trails are super-quick.

Re:

Stayed inside the county lines today. Didn't have long as other commitments had eaten into the time I'd set aside.

A quick hour gets about 12 miles door to door, including photo stops.

Couple of jaw clenching bridleways reminding why I've only used them once before.

Nice and warm 16°c, a hint of cool air, nothing more, and like Al says, super fast trails. And very quiet - ace!

Re:

Warm, gentle breeze and dry - perfect.
Late afternoon as I've been having quite a bit of trouble getting going in a morning lately.

Stopped to listen to a cuckoo, and was taken aback when a couple a roe deer emerged through a hedge just up in front, were ride highlights.

Tried a couple of paths I've not used before, and am unlikely to use again, as they were brutal. After a couple a miles my headset had shaken loose and I couldn't manage more than about 10mph.
