What a great day, cool wind so perfect for riding.
Despite Hardwick being shut to the public there were quite a few people out and around the estate. Mainly around the lakes so not to much of an issue for me as i was just passing through. The ride is one ive done a lot of times but not many of them seem as nice as today, with the sun out and the flowers coming out it just makes the whole place more beautiful
Thank you Alasdair, Chris, Mark, tintin40, rwm1962, 1552, Mark Manley, dazdc5.... and all other contributors to this thread. Seeing these lovely pictures of your rides, has made for inspiring reading.
Stopped for another catalogue pose this morning. A slightly cheeky breeze but glorious all the same, not a cloud to be seen (again). Hardly any mud, fast trails, it's perfect!
Warm again today but with the wind blowing it makes for a very nice day to be out on a bike.
A strange loop today. As i was riding a trail the other day i noticed some walkers cutting across a field, i later remembered that it is a path that leads into some woods we used to cut through many years ago. The paths around the outside of the wood have been heavily rutted in places by motorbikes but the ground was hard so managed to ride through or over most of it. After emerging on the lane i headed into Hardwick grounds again, this time coming across a couple of closed gates, one of which was opened for me by the staff patroling the grounds which was nice. Quite a few friendly people out today walking dogs, and a couple not so cyclists...
Took the Hot out for an amazing ride this afternoon... only a short one as im still recovering from knee surgery.. but on some fun trails.. This bike has a real Jeux de Vive.. it just absolutley zips and pings along.. and begs to be ridden faster and faster down singletrack.. Its no brute though.. and needs to be handled delicatley.. like a thin poised delicate foil compared to my modern 'enduro' bikes beastly broadsword.. any mistakes and it will let you know!
