Recessed allen bolt fixing for brakes....start date?

I have a 1977ish Rossin Record with recessed brake fitting. It was originally built with a Campa Super record group and will be reborn as such this winter.

Late to this thread but my late1978 Bianchi Specialissima Super Corsa has recessed front and rear. The front forks match the frame and the chrome was untouched so the hole hadn't been changed

Interesting - I thought it happened later (like around 86/87). I owned a used Norco Monterray SL in university during the late 80's (Suntour ARX, SR Sake crank, Diacompe Brakes) and it was definitely exposed nut on the brakes. I suppose it may have taken the others a bit of time to catch up.
