A beautiful morning here in East Devon so I took my hour's exercise in the local woods before most people were up, the bike is my Roberts Roughstuff with Team Raleigh paint job posted up in the up to 1997 MTB section.
There was nobody around on my way out to the woods.
Possibly my favourite time of the year with the bluebells out.
It was a little misty down the Axe Valley, you should be able to see the sea but not today.
It's amazing just how dry it is out there at the mo .. so different to last four months ... anyhoo, a couple of snaps from last evenings ride around Malvern Hills ..
Indeed the trails are in perfect condition at the moment. Defo chillier and a lot more breezy than the weekend but absolutely dead in the woods, not a soul to be seen this morning. Magic!
Single-track ahoy, this beast is a joy to ride
No, like most around here of which there were many, it closed long ago. I think they are turning it into a museum though. Most were turned into nature reserves but a few years ago the goverment let foreign compainies come and take a lot of the hills and reserves down for the coal deposits in them, shame really, but money talks, nature walks, or something like that
A little snap from today. Chilly but with no breeze and putting the gas down, I soon warmed up. This was near the end. I usually bomb it down the ridge on the far right in those woods. It's a big a "hill" as possible in suburbia
If my memory serves me right the view at the top of this little valley (the view outwards) inspired locals to launch and create the commons committee back in the late 1800's/early 1900's which ultimately saved this and large areas around it from development.
Really quiet on the paths which is spot on, sadly not the case on the roads. I'd love to know where everyone is going...I guess everyone is a key worker
