The 1st record you genuinely bought?

Blue Monday: a friend's elder brother played it and I was blown away. So the next Saturday, I plucked up courage to step up to the oh-so-cool Top Shop record counter and ask for it. The bloke said - "What the 12"?" I never knew such things existed so naturally said,"Er, yes please" and managed not to cry when handing over the sum he demanded.

Still got it.

Neneh Cherry, Raw like sushi.

Awesome, played it at my mates Christmas party last year and we were loving it!

My first music that I bought; I was 6 yrs old and it was a cassette tape during the 80s..."Modern Talking"

First vinyl Public Enemy "Fear of the black planet", my music taste had by that time increased dramatically

Used to buy 45s (singles) as they hit the charts. I can remember buying the Beatles' Hey Jude and Steam's Na Na Hey He Kiss him Goodbye. Most of the others escape me. As far as LPs, I'd have to guess either We're An American Band or Billion Dollar Babies.

I remember visiting family in Edinburgh in 72. Dad bought a double live Billy Connolly LP. I still have that one. Funny as hell. Friends don't have a clue what he's saying.

strangely it was band of gold by freda payne. got it from a charity shop when i was 5
