My funniest memory of that song, is Mark Lamarr doing a very rousing rendition of it on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, even going way past the intro, to some young pretender from some modern, popular, beat combination (Kenzie? whoever the hell he is...) and him still not getting it, despite him "... knowing all the tunes..."

First single: Making Plans for Nigel - XTC
First album: Another Kind of Blues - UK Subs
Both 1979, still got them and still got a turntable to play them on.

Mark.

7in singles:

First was C'mon Everybody, no not the original Eddie Cochrane version but by The Sex Pistols.

But... the second was Gertcha by Chas and Dave!

Also still got them.

First thing I ever bought was Complete Madness on cassette, with my Christmas money in 1981.

First vinyl I ever bought was Status Quo 1982.
First 12" vinyl was a picture disc of Chance by Big Country.
First 7" vinyl was A Celebration by U2 in 84.

First CD single was With or Without You by U2.
First CD album was The Joshua Tree.

Only one I still have is the Joshua Tree. Repurchased most of them later though.....

First 7" single, Come on Eileen, 50p from Woolworths in Totnes High Street. Album? I think it was Zenyatta Mondatta (sp!!) by the Police.
