Apparently the design incorporates a safety feature.. when braking to avoid something to your front, the forks compress and the Halfords safety rail system activates.
Through the curve of the rail, it automatically touches the frame and decides which way to progresively activate on the steering either left or right, avoiding the item to your front.
If braking really hard, the system realises the gravity of the situation and throws you from the machine, (allowing time whilst flying thru the air to appreciate just how great the system is)
