Lonely Fork Seeks Frame

I have a Surly Pack Rat fork for 26 inch wheels that I had bought a few years ago on spec. The Pack Rat is NLA from Surly. I thought I'd would be kind of neat to mate this up with a suitable (non-Surly) frame. The steerer on the fork is modern threadless and plenty of steerer is present which is good because I'm tall. I think it possible to mate this to a steel hardtail MTN frame and make a go of it. Anyone ever tried such a combo of the sort?

What's the fork's axle to crown ?

This needs to be a reasonable match with the frame geometry, which altered subtly over the period 92-98 and beyond

That's a very short fork suitable for many 26" mtb pre-95 (and the arrival of the suspension option) so loads of nice frames it could fit on👍

You, know... I was thinking. I have a Diamondback Ascent frame that is going in for painting soon, and I also have that Surly fork. The goal of the Diamondback was to turn it into a front rack light duty cargo bike of sorts while hooking up a trailer to it. That frame has rigid short chainstays which should be ideal for pulling a trailer. Perhaps it might be a cool endeavor to try that Surly fork on that frame, considering it is intended for front hauling? I have the original Diamondback fork too.
