Wanted hydraulic disc brakes

I've been given this tatty old Carrera so trying to rebuild it. Bought a set of brakes for it off Ebay but the hose lengths were wrong on the ad so they're too short.

Does anyone have a cheap set of hydraulic disc brakes by any chance? Minimum 1400mm rear hose. Thanks all.

Sorry I wouldn't be able to afford those. I'm letting the bike go for £50 to help someone out so with everything else I've already done I'd lose money (and since I've been scammed out of £700 and can't even pay the bills that's not something I can do at the moment). Realistically £30 would be my limit just to break even.

You could probably repurpose one of the brakes you bought to create a front brake. I'll have a look in my spares box for a rear of that length.

Thanks Greencat but they're going to be used on a smaller bike I'm building instead so will need to find a whole set. Even just a set of old Clarks M2 or Clouts or something like that.

The whole point of fixing bikes at the moment is to make enough money for the bills this month until I'm back on my feet because I don't know anything else. I'm only getting £10-20 per bike but everything else I've tried has ended in disaster so it's better than a kick in the teeth. I'm never going to get that £700 back but if I can at least get something until I find a new job just to keep the rent paid it's better than nothing.

I may be able to help, need to locate them but I think I have a set of 2 or avid/SRAM disc brakes. I've not had my hands on them for a while, but iirc they are elixir something or others with adjusters so not the basic versions, sxr? May even have carbon blades?

I'd need to find them and check hide lengths and whether they need a bleed or not.

I bought them ages ago as spares for a set I was returning but didn't need anything from them in the end.

If they sound ok let me know and I'll try and dig them out.

I have a pair of Avid Elixr 1s and a pair of Avid Elixr 5s that I am looking to sell, they are in very good cosmetic condition and the hoses should be long enough but they will need a bleed.

I'm looking for £15 for the 1s and £25 for the 5s.
