Yeah yeah ......

Few last pages say Jan 1992, so obviously much was compiled before, plus some / many / several products had been drawn previously as there was no change in the tools. Still, until someone comes forward to take other ownership and prove it we will not know.

Most likely VAR themselves have lost track this far back; Jeannine part-time at the switch board and amateur archivist left years ago and went to the French overseas territories to piss the retirement all up the wall and no longer gave a stuff about such old tat. It's just us sad lot to fill the puzzle.

I really liked the totally groovy covers to 'Two Wheel Trip.' Even bought a print of the first issue cover!

I was doing a bit of reading up about illustrators in France pre war: essentially they were hired in contract by publicity 'agencies', much like record labels today. They were quite poorly paid and rarely allowed to sign their works. Some of these posters sell for good four figures now. Kinda sad to think of the ordinary artist holed up in a Parisian garrett, toiling away with inks at 2am, knocking out dazzling illustrations like this by gaslight!
