And today I did......

I have been looking for a Zaskar for some time with no luck but have just fallen across a Schwinn Homegrown Elite. It seems pretty well complete apart from wheels and forks. Included xtr rear, xt front and LX shifters. The frame is v and disk compatible albeit the rear takes a 22mm bracket. Fortunately the original Hayes brakes were included. Hopefully they will work.

I think its a low to medium range brake but that's about all I can offer.
Odd that a single caliper for the 9 is a fiver cheaper than the hope tech x2 :? I wouldn't put the hayes anywhere in the same list as any hope brake but im sure it like all has its fanboys

Oh aye , what did I do today.
Stumbled across a fking large slab of teak 1 5/8" thick by about 32" square. Pretty sure its Burmese.
Just sitting out as someone's bin with a load of scrap pine

Speaking of Hayes are they any good? (Hayes Nine's) :?
Too soon to say. I will get them bled and give them a go. I would love to go Hope but I would need a No1 caliper and that hard to find right angled adapter.

And today I had......
A very pleasant trundle round Pitmedden with Clubby (cheers BTW) :)
My MMA training is starting to pay off, I'm getting really good at falling off I make it look sooo easy.

Good day .................

Ive a couple of NEW No1's ;) Well tbh I might just have the one, but its got a few fork adaptors of the type that mounts on the front axle
Also NEW ive a No2, aNo5 and 2 No2's. Caliper wise at least

The long right angled one is about as simple as it could be , well I say that but ive not seen one in the flesh so to speak but if its just flat and not stepped im sure it would be a really easy thing to recreate :? Most of us make stuff a lot more technically advanced than that so with one as a template it wouldn't be hard at all.

Any1 got one I could borrow for just such an exercise ?.
Any1 being Boxxer or TK

Oh aye Rob  Not a lot but it would have still have cost me 70 or 80 quid so as a find that's pretty good in my book. Just have to think what to do with it now :? Maybe a small salon table :? ,maybe even enough for a dining chair.

The one I would need would be the Hope hbrm 165.

How does this fit the No1 ? Any pics of it fitted. No1 having the single mount point or is that it can use either hole for adjustment ?

On a side note, did someone here not make some of these ? I seem to remember a thread about it :? Have you contacted Rampage. He takes on small projects and might have been the one on the other thread.

I can't believe you haven't got that adapter in a choice of colours in your stash!

I know the thread you mean but can't seem to find it.

This one seems to show how the caliper and bracket fit together.
