Talk away Rob, you know it makes sense, all bikes are good :-)

Today... I saw a nice Long Haul Trucker, been ridden along the hard shoulder of the M90, albeit the guy was wearing hi viz vest and helmet, I'm sure he'd have been ok.

Any route suggestions from the Northern chapter of MacRetro for a 2 day bikepack, preferably with a bothy midway and same start/finish, circa 60 miles off road?? Alternatively, a finish where we could train it back to the car.

I have been looking for a Zaskar for some time with no luck but have just fallen across a Schwinn Homegrown Elite. It seems pretty well complete apart from wheels and forks. Included xtr rear, xt front and LX shifters. The frame is v and disk compatible albeit the rear takes a 22mm bracket. Fortunately the original Hayes brakes were included. Hopefully they will work.

I think its a low to medium range brake but that's about all I can offer.
Odd that a single caliper for the 9 is a fiver cheaper than the hope tech x2 :? I wouldn't put the hayes anywhere in the same list as any hope brake but im sure it like all has its fanboys

Oh aye , what did I do today.
Stumbled across a fking large slab of teak 1 5/8" thick by about 32" square. Pretty sure its Burmese.
Just sitting out as someone's bin with a load of scrap pine
