A hot topic this one ;) Spinergy wheels are COOL  The problem with the breaks theory is that the only people that have actually broken a spinergy wheel are
A; roadies
B;idiots
C;liars

Not meaning to label anyone but if you research this you will find plenty of pictures of broken road bike wheels and not many mtb wheels.WHY IS THIS??? because the extra length of the carbon spokes on 700cc wheels makes them brittle and the flex that the extra length gives them will inevitably lead to carbon failure.Admittedly there have been breakages as there have been with all wheels if you abuse them. How come a couple of well known xc racers used to race these with no problems :?: :?: There is a picture of a famous cannondale rider literally flying through the air with these wheels under him.The people who snap them and then say " I was just riding down the shops" are obviously full of s*** and they only say this to try and claim.Yes there were problems with the bearing design but bearings are cheap and in years of use I never had to change the bearings :!:  nuff said.

too be honest i agree with marin, i might be unsure about riding them for leg safety, but i think there cool, i think i voted on that one too

i broke mine, not the spokes but the carbon rim.

which makes me an idiot ;)

How did you do this ????
A twenty foot drop off or slamming into a kerb at thirty miles an hour or did you drop a cornish pasty or a log through your wheel  :?:

Also there is a way of not damaging your legs  how about do not put your leg through the wheels when in motion   works for me

Honestly do not know, might have been a tree hitting the wheel, i do not know but since then i have not used them anymore, although i fixed them with industrial glue

i got this frame from mikekimikkim 27 a few weeks ago in a wee swap
thing
i've built it and had it out tonight for a shakewdown run

i'm quite suprised how nice a bike it is , i scrapbox built it
manitou 3's which i have just fitted speed springs to
a atac stem and quil adapter modernish mechs thumbies tekro canti's
odd wheels
its very stiff when climbing ,much stiffer than an alpinestars and very
flickable ,much like an alpine stars
i'd put some pics up but my cameras off for repair so when it comes back i'll do some
all in a nice bike ,makes you wonder why they dont still make proper
E-stays
