What is your experience with a repainted Klein Frame!!

Keep it to a personal level with the seller. Trying to gain sympathy here will not help your cause. From personal experience I have found Jonrock to be a very reasonable and honest person.

Hi-jack -

why don't you follow through your consumer grievance with whoever painted your old bike rather than spamming up this forum?

i dont see this as spam, jack is allowed to speek up and ask for options

Isn't that a bit naive? Seems more like he's using a public forum to put pressure on someone who he thinks he has got a bad deal from.

It's like a child telling teacher but couching their tale in clever terms: 'Miss, Jenkins-minor slapped me up in the bogs: have you got any suggestions over what course of action I should take?"

As a community, we make countless bike-related transactions each day. If we were to publicise every gripe, then:

a: it would take up too much forum time and space (hence spam), and

b: it would lead to lots of 'he said, she said' argy bargy which only ever leads to acrimony.

So I'd say, if people have a bad deal with a retro vendor then take it up with that person, and if inclined, leave feedback in their feedback thread.

Then we can all get back to admiring awesome machines from the golden age of mountain biking.

I personally do not see it as spamming at all. The complaint appears to be genuine although it would help to see pics

How often have others in here had a bad experience and shared it ? So my feeling is that expecting magic and paying for it at not a cheap price to then get something less than expected and the only come back is... Well, start a dispute... Would see me pissed too.

It's right complaints should be made...in the past this has helped other members avoid the same issues or has prompted a seller to raise their game a bit in areas.

If we stifle and bury complaints about sellers all the time who are we protecting?

Seriously! There are plenty of threads on this board with disgruntled members posting about their experiences. There are also feedback threads for many of the regular sellers. Jack's posts are nothing out of the ordinary.

why should this be brushed under the carpet like doctor bond say,s ?there are plenty here who would also like to buy a klein, for a lot of money. should these people not be given the chance to see what they are getting ?

... but the forum would drift yet further toward being simply a trading station. Uninteresting. Unsubscribing.

I'm not sure if you are agreeing with me or not! Your statement is absolutely right, and that's my point: all those threads are dire and off topic, and just bloat this place with billious half truths. If people want to be champions of consumer usefulness, then use the feedback section.

So John,

Did I post again in the wrong section, should this be closed again?

So this should go to the feedback section?

Jack

I'd agree the best place for feedback is the feedback section. This deal did not happen on retrobike though. Although the OP has set the thread up to poll for opinion it is clearly related to one deal with Jonrock which I understand has been closed to both sellers satisfaction. Sometime you have to let things go.

Back to the nominal point on this thread. Seen a few painters attempts at replicating klein fade paintjobs and they have all been at best mediocre, most fairly poor. Jonrock's work on the other hand in my experience has been very good, seen plenty of kleins he has redone and the finish looks close to (if not identical to) factory. Know Jon has spent a lot of time working to ensure his work is as good as possible which includes contact with original klein painters and collating images of factory finishes (I sent him 60 odd pics of my GLF klein from every angle).

I'll be very interested to see how the OPs painter gets on along with images of the poor areas.
