What guitar do you play, and what would you like instead?

I mostly play a Jap Strat (the one in my Avitar), also have an Epiphone SG i use now and again.

Did have a Fender Jaguar a few years ago, was a black HH special though (Humbuckers in place of Single coils), nice guitar but did'nt really bond with it so sold it on, would now love a standard sunburst Jaguar though.

Would also like a Gibson (Epiphone) 335, not practicing/playing enough these days to justify a new guitar though

Also as far as I know all of the Diamond series Schecters are made in the US still.

I guess S. Korea has joined the US then!

Korea is where some of my favourite modern clones have come from, amazing craftsmanship.

Here's three of mine:

Takamine acoustic

If I could choose another acoustic it would have to be a Gibson J200. Would just need the soundproofed room to play it - even un-amplified.

2002 PRS Custom 22

Guitar jewellery. Don't want anything else really in this category.

And my No 1.... 1990 Gibson Les Paul Standard

IMGP2648-1.jpg

This is the one that is in my will as not to be sold along with my C-16R. It's been through a lot with me and shows every dent and scratch.

I have a couple of other guitars in the collection; a 1989 Epiphone Les Paul in sunburst which is quite a good player but not in the Gibson category, and an ESP "superstrat" thing which has a super thin neck and is rather uncomfortable to play but makes a reasonable noise via active pickups.
All this goes through a big bad Marshall JCM900 which is easily capable of filling a hall itself. Incredible, ridiculous thing.

I have quite a few guitars, but the favourites are the self-built Jazzblasters (basically Fender Jazzmasters with Wide Range humbuckers and a few other mods):

Black Nitro relic, with block inlay neck, piezo-acoustic bridge and stereo output

Current favourite: Super lightweight paulownia body, block inlay & bound neck, locking tuners, piezo-acoustic bridge, stereo output

Just a nice simple Epiphone AJ-100 in natural finish for me that I've had for about 10 years now

I haven't played in a while and the poor thing does need restringing (any recommendations on strings, as it's been a while since I last bought strings I dunno which to go for. I used to use Ernie Ball or D'Addario but can't remember which versions I used!)

But I love it's sound and feel, must have a session on it sometime soon

Would love a Gibson Les Paul some day, even a standard plain top would do!

Saw the white one on Offsetguitars.com this morning!

Bought a Highway One strat about a year ago - my first electric. Not sure about the sleeping policemen frets, but the tone's nice through a little Vox valve amp.
But I've mainly played acoustic jazz on a cheapo Yamaha classical I've had for about 25 years, right beat-up but sounds great, I'd never part with her!

One of my favourite acoustics is an old Yamaha FG340, it goes in the car/van/whatever caseless and is my go to campfire strum.

Has a very similar character to the 60s Martin Ds, but you can pick them up for a ton.

I am right in thinking the Highway One came in a nitro finish?

What VOX is it you plug into? AC4?

yeah, an AC4 combo with the 10'' speaker - a fab little thing it is.

The Highway One does have the nitro finish, but I'm not that keen on the look tbh. I only chose the guitar for it's tone really - as long as it can make some Zappa-esque noises I'm happy. :)
