Ridiculous price!

How do these bikes ever end up in the hands of people who know nothing about them? It would have cost over £2,000 when new, but what can have happened next?

I think the Maverick rims may have kept the price low

So who got it. I took it as far as I could but couldn't really afford to go beyond £200. Regretting that now. Bit someone would have had an absolute steal otherwise

dunno, i cant really see any reason it shouldve gone any higher. as it goes i forgot when it ended. had a sniper at 200 as backup but obviously wasnt enough, im not sure i wouldve gone any higher though, considering the extra hassle/expense of getting it to where i am.

You might wanna check your sniper catf, as it seems to be firing blanks.

and yeah Mr Anthony Panthony, what do you know about kona's and voodoo's

from their bidding history i would be very suprised if it wasnt someone on here, i keep telling myself that it would have been too small, while checking for a second chance offer.

Why am i regretting it you ask, why was it worth more than £200?, The btwin will earn any fool £40-50 all day long. Would not take that much effort parting out the rest to recoup the other £150 leaving pretty much a full frame for pennies or free.

What are you left with is a relatively rare, on these shores, and high end frame designed by a mountain bike hall of fame frame builder, that it would be relatively easy to argue was better than any hot, explosif or similar.

and just so much cooler to boot

Post of the year

Gutted you didn't get it Anthony

The seller really wasn't helping himself. I emailed him twice asking for courier options and got ignored, plus I really didn't fancy the drive up from the south.

I have the 18.5" version of this frame sadly sans original paint/decals.

The Bizango was built at the the same time, in the same factory by the same frame builders who made the Kona Hot. Constructed as it was from Tange Ultimate Superlight tubing the Bizango is actually lighter than an 853 Hot and a more well thought out design with the snake stays and the offset headtube and better cable routing. This was Joe Murrays step forward away from the design that he had left Kona with. They were expensive and didn't have the custom colour options that the Hot had so we don't see many of them on our shores. There is a U.S forum member who bought one from new and still has it
