Vintage Bar Tape Colour Scheme

1974 would be tressostar cloth tape which I think is sold as tressorex iirc. White would be my choice as well. I have some with the original price on it which was 35 pence so we simply put new tape on if t got too grubby', usually after getting oiled hands putting an unshipped chain back on lol

The number of wheels would concern me more than the state of the bar tape

So, does anyone know where I can get some cloth tape for 35p these days? Actually out of interest I googled the inflation and the equivalent today would be about £3, I think I could stretch to that.

So I'm down to a choice of shiny, fizik or cloth in white, does anyone know anywhere cheap???

Cinelli Cotton Bar Tape in black or white £10.99 two rolls including end plugs. Same as I used on Hetchins.

Ah, yes, I've found it available from a few places online, thanks. I really wasn't expecting to find something so cheap! I'll pick up a few rolls

Your bike is screaming for white bar tape. Although much more comfortable, white foam or cork might look too bulky. White Benotto plastic would finish off your bike nicely. I went from black cloth, to white cork to white Benotto for the look I wanted.

That looks really smart, I thought the Benotto tape was sort of metallic/pearlescent... back to Google, it may be a good job I didn't have time to checkout my basketful of cloth tape at lunch time :smile:
