Use for dead hope hubs

I saw some stuff ages ago, about someone on here having a use for fractured hope hubs etc, like up cycling or being able to repair? I can’t remember :?

Any thoughts?

Commonly made into coffee tampers, quite a few on here.

Cant remember who I sold my last hopes too but they ended up the same.

I like to use old hubs to protect the fork from being squashed when traveling by plane or train if I need to remove the front wheel...

With a bit of imagination I guess they can also replace anything cylindric, like door handles or toilet paper holders?
