I have just bought a Trek 2000 frame. The condition appeared very poor, but on examination, it is just oxide causing bubbling, and I expect it will look as good as new.
It has a clear serial no, which has me date the frame to 1991.
Decals may prove a problem, because it appears to be a special, but I am working on that.
Normally, I modernise frames, but on this occasion I want to build it with the right gear for the period. I am struggling to get a definitive guide. I am sure that most components will be Shimano, but which models.
No real idea on the wheels, or saddle.
Any help for 1991 would be appreciated.
