Today's Ride

A very frosty freeride sesh at the flying circus training spot, first time for a good few weeks out on the ground to air missile

also the usual pint at the pheasant which the last run down comes out very handily into the beer garden although back at the end of summer I came flying round the corner into the back of a live band playing under a gazebo facing away from the gateway and had to gingerly push the beast round the band and crowd in full dh get up under a thick layer of mud, which was strange, didn’t have that problem today just the pint sliding about of its own accord on the frosty bench but don’t worry not a drop of ale was spilt or harmed

Well, this is now yesterday's ride -- and likely to be the last for a while. Lost the front wheel at speed on a local gravel road and came off quite hard. My foot must have stayed clipped in because when the dust settled it was bent at an odd angle. It righted itself when I tugged the shoe off but imaging revealed a big bone fragment had detached itself so surgery is required. I have a week in a half cast while the swelling goes down and have to inject myself with blood thinners daily to prevent clots. No riding for the next six weeks minimum. Gutted.

Oh man, sorry to hear and see this. At least you're resting up during the resting season. Back and stronger for 2024!
