Good going, it was blustery just walking the dog earlier

The rain and wind stopped at lunchtime, so took a klunky scenic route to get some sarnies

That looks lovely. Super rolling countryside with great horizons! Do you ever come across any of your (frankly disturbing) reptiles on these paths? What's the avoidance drill?

Haha -- I've encountered plenty of rabbits, roos and the odd echidna (a bit like a porcupine) but thankfully so far the only snakes I've seen have been squished by motor vehicles. I think the protocol on encountering a live specimen would be to spin those pedals rapidly in the other direction!

At last, a gap in the endless barrage of wind and rain. Proper good morning, 8 degrees, steady WNW breeze about 15-17 mph, broken cloud with clear patches.

Beautiful morning, again, a gap in the rain. It's sodden, with streams at bursting point and lots of surface water where the ditches are clogged and over capacity. Light W breeze, 10-14 mph, high patchy cloud, cool 6-7 dropping to 4-5 degrees in the valleys. Let's keep it no colder than that please! Cracking sky with a dual pink / yellow show. Venus continues to shine brightly (off camera, to the right). Not a soul passed me in my direction

Nice but cold ride today.....

About -5C air temp with ice at the roadsides which required caution, the descent back to the village was tough as at 23mph [downhill all the way] the wind-chill factor was circa -15C [it felt even colder] or maybe lower.... who knows. I should have worn thermal layers under cycle gear however the view was worth the suffering....
