Today's Ride

Cheers. I use the Alpkit pot as it fits perfectly in the Alpkit Fuel Cell stem mounted bag. It's titanium so can scorch your food if you're not careful as it conducts heat so well. I manage ok as I generally bring to boil then use a cosy to finish the food off. My preference is hard anodised aluminium. For backpacking I use a GSI Halulite pot with similar Speedster windshield/burner setup.

Look super toasty on the moors  Nice work!

Completed my first run in over 5 weeks yesterday so well pleased my calf has repaired itself. The legs are super stiff - always a good sign - so a good ride this morning has helped them. Speaking of which, a very comfortable 14 degrees rising to 16 at 08:00. Pretty still, blue skies and golden sunshine.

I had time to do a fair bit of essential maintenance at the weekend (and pondering for the 2 current projects) including swapping Z2's on the Caldera since the gold pair need attention with both seals blown (arf arf). The colour doesn't work but at least I can ride it more firmly and without the front end bottoming out.

Re:

Been having dizzy spells for about a week now, so I've had to rein the riding in a bit. Didn't feel well at all this weekend. Added to troubles at home and I'm not in a great place at the moment. My commute provided solace today. There is no happier place than on my bike right now.

Great ride in. Legs felt strong. Good pace. Not too busy - last 5 miles excepted.

Ride home similar. Today, no time to dawdle.

14°c this morning- fresh
22°c for the ride home

Re:

Deep breaths and questions to the universe always come back with the answers.

More magic light this morning. Quite a few folks out presumably before the temperature rises again. Fresh 12 rising to 15 at 08:00. Blue skies and golden sunshine. Absolutely spot on.

I’m looking for Mint Sauce in that picture, Al.
I took my 2 year-old for a paddle yesterday evening... amazing weather and quiet beaches at that time... he loves his bike seat too. Plenty of rides on the dad-bike!!

Sadly it's not Mint Sauce country down these parts although there's a small herd over the other side of the borough.

Yesterday's ride was decent, no pics. Today's was good although there were plenty of people about, again, presumably to beat the heat later on. Made for a bit of a broken ride but still got the miles and smiles in. Sweaty 17 rising to 19 at 08:00, overcast with a little breeze.

Hope you take this the right way:

Why would you spend leventeen hundred pounds on a gravel bike, when that can do so much more ! :)
