Today's Ride

Re:

With the heavy showers over the past few days the trails are excellent; slightly tacky, bit more grip but still nice and quick. Not too happy about the temperature though...it's flippin' June! Anyway - great start to the week :D

I had a couple of hours spare yesterday so headed up to the Ridgeway for a nice loop. Not too busy, fortunately, which is always a risk!

New tyres (Bontrager XR2 Comps, if you're wondering) were a welcome addition as it's pretty rough in places!

Those look decent, how wide are they?

They are a fairly voluminous 2.2". Initial impressions are good - they're noisy as hell on the road but nice and fast rolling off it :)

Cheers - will keep them in mind next time I need some new boots...although I have "a few" pairs of Smoke and Dart reissues

Re:

So how does everyone carry their camera / 'phone so that they stay dry and safe in a fall? I keep mine in a Camelback so don't take enough pictures.

Got two rides in today... early morning long road ride on my Majestic, nothing quite like going downhill at 41.4mph on an old steel bike to make you feel like a teenager again.... mind you I felt my age climbing though

2nd run was a quick blast out with kids on my Antaeus.... Poppies look gorgeous..

I have a TINY Quechua backpack. Its featherweight and has two sections the smaller of which i pack my phone which is what i use to take my pics. i was looking at those handlebar-mounted holders but dont think i could trust them.
