Today's Ride

Re:

Yeah, Mr. Crudley, I've seen nature shows on TV of all the critters you have down there. Just remember to keep a sharp lookout and step lightly...Today-Wednesday-Beautiful out, about 76 F. and a bit windy. We rode up Eldridge Grade on Mt. Tam to about the halfway turnoff at about 1000' or so. Last week, Joe Breeze gave me a NOS Breezer jersey from 1995, when he was still making some bikes with the Soft Ride Beam suspension-today was my first ride in it...

Today-Thursday-About 74 F. when we left, with storm clouds rolling in over Tam and the ridges West of town, we went up Iron Springs Road to Tamarancho at the top. It started to sprinkle, then rain lightly at the top, so we ducked under the trees and waited about 20 minutes until it was sunny again for the descent back home. We noticed a patch of Lavender growing near the top, kinda unusual as it's from the Med, not here. I guess somebody planted it up there-smells good... :)

Remember driving into the Zion Canyon this time of the year a few years ago. It was full of lavender. The whole canyon smelled like heaven. Great place. Maybe it's from there... ;)

Today-Sunday-An afternoon ride up to some water tanks 850' up above town. Super windy and cooler, about 64 F. and sunny. I took a zoom shot of the top of Oak Manor drive, near my house. It's between 20-30 % grade up to about 700', where a left turn gets you into the dirt and an immediate steep climb in the dirt...

Today-Thursday-Nice out, about 74 F. and sunny. Up Iron Springs road to the Scout Camp today, about 800' climb-then a swing by the bike museum in town to hang out with some friends. Snapped a shot of the bike that Myles Rockwell, a Fairfax boy, won the DH World Championships with in 2000...

Today-Friday-Really windy and 68 F. out. A stiff climb to the west about 800' up, then down to hang out at the museum again with Charlie Kelly and Joe Breeze. Another pic today from the museum showing CK's Series 1 Breezer and two early Ritcheys...
