Thomson X2 ok for an XC bike?

Anyone use the "road"x2 stem on their mtb?Im thinking of getting one for my (strictly)xc rigid.Since its only a 2 bolt clamp would there be a fear of bar slip on the rough stuff?

I don't see why not. I have a bonty race XXX lite stem which only has 2 bolts and a carbon face plate and when I was using it I didn't ever need to adjust it once fitted.

I use one on my Xizang and it's fine - surprisingly stiff too even in 130mm with wide bars. Go for it, it's a lovely stem.
