The Weird and Wonderful Bicycle Components Thread!

LOL, I'm just restoring a local racer's bike, and it came with a set of these. Had no idea what they were, so tossed them in the garbage. Just retrieved them, as apparently they're somewhat collectable.

Ofmega are a mysterious but fascinating company to me - they made loads of forgettable Campagnolo clone products, but then came out with some beautifully designed and finished components that still stand out from the crowd.

The plastic Mistral RD definitely tends toward the 'weird,' but the crankset has to be classed as 'wonderful' in my eyes. :p

I have a crank and most of a Premier group I am looking forward to showing off on the right frame one day. 🤩
What really puzzles me is that the Mistral crankset is the perfect complement to the Premier derailleur, having the same amazing finish. Beautifully made components.

Yep, their naming conventions are all over the shop. The Mistral front derailleur is a horrible plasticy job, along with the shift levers (they are like the Modolo 'carbon fiber' ones) so my intended build is all Premier where possible. They even packaged them this way as complete groups.
