Stolen Bike

Two bikes stolen, and it still hurts.......

1992 Kona Explosif Pro - full Suntour XC Pro, Mag 21 Tis, original Magura racelines, and I'd just updated the cranks to Middleburns and the stem to a Control Tech.

Stolen in 1996 from my student house in Exeter :x they knew what they were coming for - over a 20ft back wall, into a conservatory, through a D lock, and left 3 other middle range bikes.

The 2nd was a 1996 Stumpjumper M2 Pro, Yellow Judy SLs, Full XT, Mavic wheels, Maguras. I stupidly locked it up in the back garden of my local pub and popped in for a pint......20 minutes later I come out - gone.

A Rossin Adventure in '93 and a GT Karakoram Elite in '95. Have managed to find almost exact replacements though...

Not stolen, but I had the rear wheel removed from my Kona whilst it was outside a pub in the backstreets of Headington.

Taking the whole thing would have been better, as pushing a bike the 3 miles home on the front wheel was a pain.

I had my 1990 Bear Valley (under 1 year old) stolen when I was 15... So gutted as It was nearly all XT... My fault I went to buy a Kit Kat from the shop and did not lock it up but I could see it all the time... I saw the wheels move and ran after it... One of my stupid mistakes in life... After this I was doing 5 paper rounds a day to get another bike...

I then had a 91 Scott Windriver stolen, luckily this was covered under my Dad's house insurance.

Recently, 8/9 years ago someone stole my Dave Yates along with my Honda CR500. I was more gutted to lose the Dave Yates...

Only ever had one bike stolen. My Univega Alpina 502 from halls of residence at uni in '96. I had only just bought it and it wasn't insured.
I kind of lost interest after losing that £500 until I bought another bike 10 years later, now I've found this place and have caught the bug again.

I miss that old bike, damn pikey students...

not me but my brothers both did ! 1 was a 1995 kona aa with ringle and xtr and the other was a 1996 kona cindercone with xtr and maguras both removed from the shed one afternoon ! lucky that my sex three was firmly under me

Had a 1995 nail trail, a mate used it for a week, he didnt lock his garage :shock: :shock: ..yes it went walkabout :cry: :cry: . This was in 2006. That bike still turned heads then .

He gave me £80.00. for my trouble{he still is a good mate..bless him} :roll: :roll:
