There seems to be some contradiction here as some say fatbike so that the bike is less likely sink in. Meanwhile others say skinny tyres to increase the frame clearances and presumably to help the tyre to cut through and find some traction below.
Surely this depends on the consistency of the mud and its tendency to stick to and build up on the tyres?
And I would have thought that when riding through wet sloppy mud with a good surface below, that the fatter the tyre, the higher the rolling resistance?
