I bought some lovely Royce Hubbed wheels off here recently and have been looking for some qr skewers to do them justice, I can't find or realistically afford Royce ones, though if anyone has a set.......

I chanced across these and they aren't yet in my possession, but hopefully soon will be.

What are they? Are they any good? Do they do a decent job of holding wheels where they should be? Are they worthy of a Royce hub?

Sold as heylight titanium skewers, but can't find any images to confirm or deny. I've not come across heylight as a brand before, so hoping someone can confirm what they are, and also learn a bit about heylight as I know nothing.

Just for comparison

Richard Heydenreich was starting 1990 a bike parts company called Heylight and running this for a decade or a bit longer in Bavaria almost as one man show.
He was before 34years as engineer at Hercules and BMW motorbikes.
The parts are light and I'm not aware of any quality issues (and that's pretty rare for 90ties custom CNC stuff).

just adding also a bit of material showing the Heylight portfolio

early stuff

(the disc wheels had been done also in Germany in a cooperation with the two guys founding later Lightweight, still around today, and had been based on innovative Sulky wheels)

nice and very lightweight hubs

Twenty years ago I ordered a 29.4mm red anodised post for my Yo-Eddy. Very nice item and it is clear a lot engineering went into it.

Thanks for the info. I now have the skewers in my possession and they really are nice. Extremely light and as said above, some lovely machining has been done to make them such lovely things to hold in your hand and just look at.

They will be paired with some Royce hubs, which are shiny shiny. Should I attempt to make these so, or am I on a hiding to nothing?
