Silverfish 1995 Klein Adroit Night Storm

If one was to decide to repair the metallic paintwork on ones frame, what would be the rough cost of such a task be? I have spend months (am slow) trying to repair paintwork on a frame n' fork, its a painstaking job though am no expert - I am just a home hobbyist. I take my hat off to people being able to have that level of skill.

A good friend of mine who also loves to cycle is a rather good oil painter, as in canvas. I spoke to him about my frustrations on trying to paint me old Frame n' Fork and he just said "you got to have the right temperament, and understand/accept it will be never finished" (the way you want it to be) - I just said "oh cheers!" šŸ¤Ŗ

No idea Iā€™m afraid
@jonrock would be the man to ask šŸ‘

Guess it's quite hard to estimate compared to a "flat base" coloured (self coloured) paint spray/repair unless you have lots of experience knowing what your in for.

Klein purists probably want to look away nowā€¦

But the bar on the MC2 stem/bar combo had been cut down to 54cm. They should be 58cm.

No way I can ride a rigid Klein with 54cm handlebars at my age šŸ¤£

You can get these professionally lengthened but Iā€™ve gone with the cheap and cheerful option. Control Tech bar extenders.

Itā€™s not pretty but it does the job. There are longer options out there that theoretically could have given me a 62cm bar but I figured just getting it back to original 58cm was good enoughā€¦

Like I said itā€™s not pretty, but when the grips are on Iā€™m pretty sure Iā€™ll forget they are even under there.

Iā€™m really not feeling this bike at all.
I was never a Klein fan back in the day and the 87 Mountain Klein is more my cup of tea.
Thought I could persuade myself to love it but itā€™s just not happening.

Time to move it on.

Sorry folks. I hate not completing a buildā€¦

...I'm with you. In 1990 I bought a Klein and did a top end build .... did not like it. At all. Fast, rigid, accelerated like a fast thing. Rigid, harsh, beat me up. Back to steel for me at that point. AAAAhhhhhhhh .... Tange Prestige, Reynolds 853, forgiving, fast... nice.

No need to apologise! Hope you can pass it on/sell it to someone who will love it and enjoy it. All the retro bikes I own is because of an emotional connection/encounter I had when I was younger. It has to feel right and if it doesnā€™t then move on!

Look forward to seeing what youā€™ll build/focus on next. Your builds are WAY out of my league in terms of quality! It feels like Iā€™m a young kid again gawping at exotic builds from MBUK/MBA/race from BITD! šŸ˜šŸ˜ŽšŸ‘Œ
