I absolutely love S'bikes

What were the differences between the 726 and 728, when they were new, then?

think just above the front mech under the says it has a reinforcement triangle welded in and the head tube beefed up inside and welds as the 729-728s suffered for cracks from twisting harsh riding in these areas

IIRC correctly, the difference is mainly in the components. 726 used LX (or in some cases DX), 728 used XT and 729 used XTR parts.

Didn't even notice that triangle before, but it could very well be a reinforcement that was added at some point.

@RacerX : what's the frame number on your bike? My 1992 frame is number 054xx (x-es added for security reasons, of course). If yours is much higher, the triangle could indeed indicate that they made some minor changes between production years.

It's the 504 on my site indeed. I really should get back to working on the site's update, which is long overdue. Just can't get in the right mindset right now.

When i had my 726 it came original with full XTR M900 Components, think it was the reinforcements to the frame on this model of mine, no LX insite on this from new

Just wondering if there are any more Sbike owners on the forum with some photos of their Sbikes
Planning on rebuilding my Sbikes so looking for some inspiration
Daytona will get stripped and cleaned and maybe some new decals and the 700c will be getting some ridgid forks
