Show us your marins!

Last month I picked up this 91? Palisades, from a lovely guy that was selling a number of early 90s Marins. I had the fluro flexstem waiting for a bike and this was the perfect match.

As a tribute to '92's Team Marin's MTB, I've re-erected this '96 Marin Sausalito.

Ever since I got into the 'older stuff', I've liked the color scheme.
Zolatone appeared to be a kind of paint, instead of a kind of of grey.
Unfortunately the neon orange did not cover up all too good but then again; the bike itself as a whole is far from perfect.

Fitted with anonymous cranks, a dura-ace derailleur, XT 9sp shifters and Schwalbe roadspeed tires, this thing goes!

But does it brake? Despite the fact that these XT V-brakes do brake well, they seem to be mounted in a strange, wide way .... We'll see.

It was also a first attempt to make decals with layers of paint.
And also the 3D printed chainguard wa
s a first.
