I finally got a disc mount and disc brake for it recently but the whole thing looked so shonky and heavy I went back to the XTR V.

Gotta say thanks to MaxP for shifting that XTR disc brake in my direction, it's really pimped up my Saracen Dirttrax something rotten!

Bit of a thread resurrection (to say the least!) but thought it might be fun to compare how the old Chameleon is set up in recent years - a lot has not changed since the OP (like that current McD advert I like to get my moneys worth out of components! ) but now on susp forks, risers etc. Still my main bike too. Just popped a Charge Spoon on there as my faithfull 17 year old WTB SST is undergoing repairs...

Great thread revival with a nice early Heckler and a couple of Superlights above. I posted my Heckler in a Rohloff/disc build on page 3 or so but it has been rebuilt since. More retro, and it doesn't get out onnthe trail nearly enough. Plus every time I post this picture it is obvious I need to get a set of period decals for it.

Enjoy!!

Re:

Hi all - does anyone know the i2i and stroke length for a 1999-2001 Superlight???

Edit - looking at the pics I have realised that when I trashed the swingarm on my 1999 SL it was replaced with a 2002 swingarm...which is only air shock compatible. So I have a 1999 frame and 2002 swingarm! So I need i2i and stroke length for a 2002 to 2006 SL. :D :D :D

cheers

Beauf :D

Re:

Worked out the i2i and stroke length for the superlight (with tape measure...sorry was being lazy :D)

Have replaced the leaky 2002 fox float R with a pushed float ctd and WOW...

TF tuned gave me a right good deal on a 2015 push tuned shock after the 2016 one I was after was not available. Apparently it's the platform that makes the difference, but it has really transformed the ride, not that I had much of a problem before.

:D
