Senna Film

Anyone seen it at all ?

I managed to find a cinema showing this and went to see it last night and what can I say, what a great film. If you are into F1 or have a remote interest in it this is a must see. We all know the tragedy that finishes it all but that doesn't make it any less shocking and the in car footage in the wet at Monaco is just immense!

The film kind of changed my view of him slightly as I do feel the media did always made him out to be a bit of a 'dirty' driver at the time.

If only F1 was as exciting as it used to be :(

not seen this but want to. probably wait for dvd though.

he was an amazing driver and an inspiration to many.

i saw a documentary a while ago and that changed my opinion. i hadnt realised the work he did with the underprivalidged in his home country.

rip

Can't wait to see this either. Was more of a Mansell fan but aside from his skill as a driver theres definitely something about Senna

From what I've read (Motorsport magazine) its definitely worth seeing in the cinema

im a fan and he was brilliant, i will be watching the movie......sid watkins was on radio 4 talking about it last week, he gave an insight into senna from a perspective of being a friend and it was interesting.....i bought an 'f1 incar footage' dvd a couple of years ago, it was crap, apart from the footage of a lap of suzuka by senna, in a manual geared mclaren.....its spellbinding and i have watched it hundreds of times......his sister is non too shabby too!.....

I finally got a copy with the subtitles. Watched a bit of it. Need to set aside a block of time and sit down and watch it in it's entirety.

Game 4 tonight. Maybe tomorrow.

The in car footage in the film was very good although I imagine they had to trim it down a lot to make room for all the rest of the material.

Some of the post race footage and meeting room stuff is hilarous

I think times have changed a bit, really.

But many long-time F1 fans could never reconcile his, well, ruthless style.

Fast-forward a few years, and many were rolling their eyes about Schumacher, and how he was portrayed as some kind of evil flawed genius for Adelaide 94 and Jerez 97 (although Monaco 06 quali is still a bit of an "Oh!" moment) when just a few years earlier, it was almost par for the course.

He was most certainly supremely talented and enigmatic. "Mercurial" seems a very fitting adjective.

There were lots of ruthless drivers on the track. Kimi, Schumacher, Juan Pablo, Gilles, Keke (Mika had his moments) to name a few. It was the total arrogance of Senna during interviews where he more or less stated he was so superior a driver, the other drivers should yield to him as soon as he came up on them without question that turned a lot of people off him.
