i dont see whats wrong with zip ties . no point sticking a lump of plastic to the frame when you still need to zip tie the cable to it

Lash-ups with full routing look horrible, which is why I ended up getting a stop put on my Kona to run V's properly.

For the Lloyd I ran V's for a while,

But the rear bosses where to far apart and hence I ended up back with Canti's. There was not much difference between a badly set up V and a well set up Canti.

Bonus is the Canti's look better

Performance wise... this is not a bike I would be willing to throw down anything super sketchy anyway so canti brakes suit the purpose well.

The explosif on the other hand needs the V's as I'm going all out to try and break that thing on every ride

Out of the two solutions you've posted I'd go for the self-adhesive guides. Just make sure that you de-grease the frame with something first. Also when you stick the guides on make sure to leave them for a few hours so the glue can set before you use them otherwise they'll be peeling off in a couple of days.

I've got one of the M-Part plastic guides on my Kona. Works a treat, you don't need the zip tie and they're fairly small and discrete.
Just the job :)

This photo is above Birch Vale, with the TV mast to the right. You have come from Latern Pike or maybe Rowarth and you were heading towards New Mills.

Do I get a prize?

I've not seen those tyres in a while - Cannibal and a Ground Control - had both in my time :D

Hi Harry,
the first one you showed work just fine, I've tried them. The second ones look a little over-complicated especially when you can make your own excellent cable guides with zippies and a bit of Camelbak water tube. Do you hate the cantis because of their stopping power or because of their difficulty setting up? If it's the latter then Avid shorties with their single-allan key setting like V brakes would solve that.
