Retrobike Touring.

Re:

Nice one! Although if he did it in 1990, he was not riding "retro" then, but the latest of the market! ;-)

Here is a 1991 Cignal Silverado I used to cycle from Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) to Leh (Laddakh) in 2015. I left the bike there, so with luck someone in Leh is still riding it!

I can definitely recommend this book as some lockdowns touring inspiration, not that most people would set out to do this ride, but it’s a good read nonetheless.

Great stuff! What's everyone's wish list this year?
I was to be in Normany last week, taking friends on their first tour along the D-Day beaches.

Now it's bikepacking locally top of my list. With little chance of non-UK travel, the moment the lockdown lifts I hope for a few overnighters.

That sounds awesome, is it a tour from Utah through Sword or more?
Cheers,

I've done it a few times: Portsmouth to Ouistreham, then along all the way to Juno and beyond. There is a write up in this thread on page 29.
Page 47 has a trip to Utah beach and Ste Mere Eglise for the Airborne assault last year, looping from Cherbourg.

Re:

I think some 24/48 hr sojourns may be as much as I can hope for this year. Had a couple of days rising booked in for the start of April (and the weather was great, typical!) but that was postponed, obviously.

Good choice! Got “Atlas Biker” but not this one...

More essential Lockdown reading:
