Retrobike Touring.

I will share this solo bikepacking Adventure from couple months ago.
Not retro but full suss, me and my bike ... nice
The plan was to cycle from Stratford in East London to Beachy Head In Eastbourne Sussex following sustan route 21. with wildcamp on the North downs in Surrey and camp on the beach near beachy head.
just over 100 miles mix of roads ,trails though country parks etc.
took me day and a half to get their taking my time to absorb the healing greens of the country side, Inflatable Alpkit mat and army goretex bivy ,cheap sleeping bag and meths burner for quick meals hot drinks.

Afternoon all, just picked up a used frame bag off eBay but having just done a quick mock up as per the piccy, what’s the best way to prevent the brake cables being hindered by the large Velcro strapping? Plastic donuts? Or are these bags not really meant for retros with exposed cables...?!

I’d put the straps under the cables if possible. Should be ok and then the cables won’t scratch the frame too.
 
Hi i use liner cable bit like the liner used for Klein Internal frame routing
for exposed cables on top tube .
And other areas try i to get Velcro straps under the cables..
Like ft mech cable routing on seat tube
 
Looks like a wing suit.

Fully enclosed cables are the way to go for lots of reasons including this. Easy to do with a few cable ties.
